Ainoa Winery’s wines exceed all expectations. Four gold medals from France in one week.
Game changing wines from Finland transform the industry winning gold at the Vinalies Internationales 2021 and Le Mondial du Rosé 2021.
Ainoa Winery of Hollola has started transforming Finland and the wine industry globally, bringing to the market sophisticated wines from the forest.
The possibility that Finnish wines could blow the French out of the water seemed slim to start, however over the last 7 years Paola and David’s passion to produce wines from the ecological Finnish forests has taken them to gold medals at international wine competitions held in Paris, Lyon and Reims.
New awards for Ainoa Wines in France:
Gold medal for Sametti blueberry dessert wine at the Vinalies Internationales.
Gold medal for Vaapukka raspberry dessert wine at the Vinalies Internationales.
Gold medal for Suven Taika strawberry dessert wine at Le Mondial du Rosé.
Gold medal for Aho Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and strawberry wine blend at Le Mondial du Rosé.
The wins at Le Mondial du Rosé are groundbreaking. This is the world’s most prestigious competition devoted to rosé wines. It has never given an award for anything except traditional rosés but allows non-traditional rosé wines to enter and be judged blindly against entries from Provence, the Loire Valley, Champagne, Navarra, Rioja and the rest of the rosé world.
Päijät-Häme can now be added to that list. Newly released Suven Taika strawberry dessert wine was awarded the first gold medal ever given at Le Mondial du Rosé for a wine made without grapes. It is instead crafted from strawberries grown by Koivistoinen Strawberry Farm in Lahti.
An exceptional performance by Aho caps off Ainoa’s French wins. Aho is a collaboration product created when Helsinki Sommelier Samuil Angelov blended white wine made by Nea Berglund of Finnish owned Château Carsin in Bordeaux with strawberry wine from Ainoa. Only 11 wines received a higher score than Aho out of almost 1300 entries from 29 countries.
